The housing market is one of the most trusted economic indicators in our nation.  While our goal is not to place our trust in treasures on this earth, the construction industry has been a solid source of income for many households across the centuries.  The Building Construction and Maintenance program will provide a broad range of practical and ethical skills to enable students to confidently enter the workforce and perform tasks from maintaining their own home to possibly designing and performing construction projects as an independent contractor in the future.   Careers in this Field:
  • Mason
  • Carpenter
  • Contractor
  • Plumber
  • Electrician
  • Construction Instructor
For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
Hebrews 3:4

This program is designed to equip students with the skills required to design, construct, and maintain residential and light commercial buildings.

Instruction will be designed to meet the curriculum requirements necessary to qualify students to be prepared to enter the construction field with the fundamental knowledge of the building trades.

Students will be instructed with appropriate theory and hands-on training in the use of hand and power tools, building components & design, construction methods, problem solving and maintenance procedures.  The on-site work experiences will provide the opportunity to enhance practical skills as well as prepare the student to relate to real customers.

Potential Instructor:  NATHAN WEAVER

Nathan has been in the construction industry since 1996 working on all types of buildings from mud huts in Central America to commercial office complexes in State College, PA.  His experience includes working on construction projects as an employee, heading up building projects as a missionary in Honduras, and currently operating a business as the owner/contractor.  Nathan is married and has five children.  His greatest ongoing construction project--building his home through being a Godly husband and father.
