Cook  has over 30 years experience working in education. She pursued her college degree after she and her husband, Randy, were married, put it on hold when they became the parents of three dynamic children, and completed her college when the youngest child began kindergarten. Upon obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from Shippensburg University in Business Education, she began her teaching career as an Instructor of Secretarial Science at Harrisburg Area Community College. She resigned to follow the Lord’s calling to teach at Harrisburg Christian School and developed the initial curriculum for 8th thru 12th grades for the high school business program. Continuing to pursue God’s leading, she went into public education teaching keyboarding and business applications for 16 years at Dauphin County Vocational Technical School, where she became the advisor to the first highschool Christian club in the area. During this same time she and her husband accepted positions as the Youth Leaders at Manada Gap Church where they started out with five teenagers at their first service and had between 80 to 100 teens attending within the first year. In those later teaching years, she felt the instruction of the Lord to obtain further educational degrees to enter into administrative positions in public education. She obtained her Masters in Education from Penn State in Training and Development with additional certification in Public Personnel Administration. She then went on to Temple University to obtain her Secondary Principal Certification and then to obtain her Vocational Administrative Director Certification. She held administrative positions at Cumberland-Perry AVTS as the Assistant Principal in charge of Discipline and Child Accounting and then as the Assistant Principal in charge of Student Services. The Lord then led her to the position of Assistant Director of Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School where she was in charge of all staff and all educational activities and policies. August of 2007 she resigned from this position to follow the vision from God to establish Christian Vocational high schools. Sandra and her husband, Randy, have been married going on 44 years. Together Sandy and Randy founded Pathways Tech and together they are now serving as the Executive Directors on the Board of Directors. Sandra serves as President of the Board. She will also serve as Administrative Director for the first Pathways Tech CCTE. Sandra is currently working on her Doctorate of Ministry.

rcookboardpicMr.  Randy F. Cook worked evenings and weekends during his high school years as a laborer in an automotive shop. Soon after graduating from high school, he obtained a laborer position with the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He went on to serve as a Sergeant in the United States Army, functioning as a team leader in radio repair and radio communications. Following his service in the Army, Randy began a career with the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania and continued employment with them as they transitioned to Bell Atlantic and now Verizon. Altogether, he has 44+ years experience working in telecommunications. His education includes 26 credits in the pre-engineering curriculum at college, complemented by completing over 70 technical engineering courses provided by Verizon, Bell Atlantic, Bell of Pennsylvania, and AT&T. Randy has held various titles and job duties in Network Engineering, Network Provisioning, and Network Support, both before and after divestiture. Supervisory/Administrative positions include Facility Engineer responsible for the planning and coordination of new facilities to meet both interoffice and loop requirements; Local LAN Administrator responsible for all cabling, software, and hardware upgrades and replacements; Subject Matter Expert and Single Point-of-Contact for escalations and methods for new services; and Tier 1 TIRKS (Trunk Integrated Record Keeping System) support provider to the Circuit Provisioning Centers and Carrier Account Team Center for daily provisioning problems in Verizon East, as well as creating methods and procedures for new technology and services and creating ProCDS (Programmable Circuit Design System) models for all special service circuits. Although he has officially retired from Verizon, he continues to work as an engineering contractor to Verizon, currently providing TIRKS support to fGTE OFE Planners in Erie and Hershey. Randy has been involved continuously in various ministry positions including Royal Ranger Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Church Board Treasurer, Youth Leader, Young Adults Ministry Leader, Puppet Ministry Leader, and currently serves in various capacities as the co-founder of Pathways Tech CCTE. Randy is also an Executive Director for Pathways and serves as Vice- President of the Executive Board of Directors.

Mrs. Fern Beaven has completed three years of college education at Columbia Union College, now known as Washington Adventist University, in Takoma Park, Maryland, working toward her B.S. degree majoring in Home Economics Education with a Minor in Secretarial Science and Secondary Education. She has over 15 years of documented success as an office professional with an impressive background in accounting, handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, billing, corporate taxes, and preparation of end-of-month reports in various departments in business and industry as well as working in public education at the York City School District. Having expertise with the QuickBooks Nonprofit software, she has been volunteering with Pathways Tech offering her talents to input financial data and prepare reports. Fern serves on the School Board at the York Adventist Church School, and is a Deaconess, Organist, and Clerk at her Church. Fern has raised four children and is the proud grandmother of five grandchildren. She has initiated interest in serving on the Advisory Board, functioning specifically as Board Treasurer and liaison to leaders of the committees in charge of fundraising.

audreyscanphotoMiss Audrey Langenhop  is a graduate of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh where she earned her B.S. degree in Culinary Management. She is also a graduate of Baltimore International College, having earned an A.S. degree in International Baking and Pastry. While enrolled at Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Audrey was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.  From 1986 – 94 she was the vice-president and executive pastry chef of The Village Bakery and Ice Cream Shop in York, PA during which time she was recognized by The Susquehanna Valley Chef’s Association as the Culinarian of the Year, and the Restaurateur of the Year. She has been twice nominated for inclusion in the annual national record of Who’s Who in American Business Women. Audrey authored two cookbooks, A Taste of Chocolate, and Brownies and Blondies published by Wellspring Publishing. She is certified by the American Culinary Federation at the Certified Executive Pastry Chef level and shall be pursuing CFSE (certified food service educator) credentialing through Trident Technical College and the Food Service Educator’s Learning Community. Audrey plans to begin graduate studies in a Masters of Education program with an emphasis in curriculum development.  She serves on the Occupational Advisory Board for York County School of Technology, as well as serving as a NOCTI proctor, Skills USA and Pro-Start judge for PA and MD culinary programs. Audrey has taught pastry arts, culinary arts, restaurant management, sanitation, and nutrition curricula at the post-secondary level for more than 15 years. She is a member of The York S.D.A. Church where she serves as a deaconess. Audrey is serving on the Advisory Board, functioning specifically as board secretary and liaison to instructors for curriculum development and programmatic credentialing.

strayerboardpicMrs. Doreen Strayer is a graduate of Cumberland Perry Area Vocational School, Doreen is a strong supporter of vocational education. Upon graduation, Doreen passed the Cosmetology State Board Exam to earn her Cosmetology license. She has been working in the cosmetology field for 28 years. Several years ago Doreen returned to Cumberland Perry Area Vocational School as an adult student and completed the required hours of instruction and exam to become a State Licensed Cosmetology Instructor. Doreen and her husband, Jeff, are the proud parents of four children. As a homeschool mom, she is also a strong supporter of homeschool education. Doreen is a born-again Christian and enjoys working with the youth of her church. Doreen is interested in pursuing the position of cosmetology instructor. Pathways Tech CCTE is proud to have Doreen serve as the faculty representative on the Advisory Board.
