ACADEMIC INTEGRATION Most academic subjects are naturally integrated through regular course material. Science is taught with electricity, anatomy/ physiology and Chemistry. Math is essential in mixing and knowing measurements and fractions. Reading is essential to comprehend and follow directions for the products used. Students will ultimately use many of the academic skills, as they will be required to design and describe a Salon that they will create on paper. BIBLICAL INTEGRATION – CHRISTIAN SERVICE ASSIGNMENT Students will have opportunity to do Ministry with Cosmetology by
going into Nursing and Senior Homes to do whatever services would be permitted
and by visiting Battered Women’s Shelters where many of these women feel of
little to no value. Our students will be able to provide various free salon
services for these women, helping to perk them up and will thereby share the
love of Christ through these visits. Cosmetology is about building
relationships -- often the stylist becomes the client’s “Family”. Students will
be required to journalize these visits and share highlights verbally with their
class. SUPPLIES TO BE PURCHASED BY THE STUDENT | |||
