"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;

and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths."

    $1 in Faith

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace in various forms. 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

“To Protect and to Serve” is a motto emblazoned on the door of many police cars, and it serves as a tenet of departmental mission statements. We are instructed in Deuteronomy 10:12 “to serve the LORD your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul”.  Whether you are a police officer assisting at a domestic violence scene, a corrections officer escorting prisoners, or a dispatcher receiving an emergency call, you will have the opportunity to serve the LORD and your fellow man on a daily basis in the criminal justice field.

Careers in this Field:
    •  Police Officer
    •  Sheriff's Department
    •  Corrections
    •  911 Dispatcher
    • Security Officer

The EMT program is a one-year course that will comprise the first year (Level 1) of the Criminal Justice program.
Those who successfully complete this training and pass the certifications will receive the state certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). This certification will transfer to an EMT license. Pennsylvania guidelines require that students must be at least 16 years of age when they begin EMT training.

NOTE
: The EMT program can also be taken singularly without enrolling and continuing with the Criminal Justice program.

The Criminal Justice program is designed to equip students with the skills required to obtain an entry-level position with a police department (additional training may be necessary), sheriff's office, prison, Emergency Operations Center, Security agency and other law enforcement related organizations.

Instruction will be provided in both theory and hands-on format. Guest speakers representing local, state and regional law enforcement and community service agencies will be invited to provide students with timely and accurate information regarding their chosen field. Following successful completion of coursework, students may be eligible to receive career certifications.

ACADEMIC INTEGRATION

Most academic subjects are naturally integrated through regular course material.

BIBLICAL INTEGRATION – CHRISTIAN SERVICE ASSIGNMENT

If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ,  if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

(Philippians 2:1-4)

Christ commands, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40).  It is this scripture that forms the compassionate basis for our community service projects.  Students will participate in outreach opportunities in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies and ministries. Through these outreach opportunities our students will develop confidence, professionalism and compassion. It is our fervent prayer that God leads our efforts to benefit the greater Harrisburg area.
