The EMT program is a one-year course that will comprise the first year (Level 1) of the Criminal Justice program. The program can also be taken singularly without enrolling and continuing with the Criminal Justice program. This program is designed to equip students with the skills required to obtain an entry-level position with an ambulance service, hospital, extended care facility, home visitor facility and other entitites. Based on the demographics of this area, the need for qualified EMT's is extensive. Instruction will be designed to meet the curriculum requirements necessary to qualify students to pass the Pennsylvania Department of Health practical and written examinations. Those
who successfully complete this training and pass the certifications
will receive the state certification as an Emergency Medical Technician
(EMT). This certification will transfer to an EMT license. Pennsylvania
guidelines require that students must be at least 16 years of age when
they begin EMT training. Potential Instructor: BRYAN SELLERS EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN TASK LIST Task List (1st Year - Level 1)

ACADEMIC INTEGRATION Most academic subjects are naturally integrated through regular course material.
And Jesus
answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell
among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and
departed, leaving him half dead. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came
where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him,
and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast,
and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. -
Luke 10: 30, 33-34 (KJV) Christ commands, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40). It is this scripture that forms the compassionate basis for our community service projects. Students will participate in outreach opportunities in conjunction with local emergency health care agencies, nursing homes and ministries. It is our sincere hope to benefit our fellow man by sharing our time and talents.
