Colossians 3:23

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.

The HVAC and Refrigeration field is one of the most high-tech and cutting edge trades in our nation. The HVAC/R industry has been a solid source of income for many households across the country for decades and there continues to be a growing need for qualified and skilled technicians. The HVAC/R Installation and Maintenance program will provide a broad range of practical and ethical skills to enable students to confidently enter the workforce and perform tasks that are easily usable in many of the trades as well as in the HVAC/R field. Students will not only gain a competent knowledge of the trade but will also learn the value of being a worker that employers will desire to have on their team.

Careers in this Field:
  •  HVAC Service Technician
  •  HVAC Installation Technician
  •  HVAC Maintenance Technician
  •  Refrigeration Service Technician
  •  HVAC Service Manager
  •  Facilities Maintenance Technician
  • HVAC Construction Inspector
    Plumbing and Electrical Trades
  • HVAC Instructor

II Timothy 2-15

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Instruction will be designed to meet the curriculum requirements necessary to qualify students to be prepared to enter the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration field with the fundamental knowledge of the trades.

This program will equip students with the skills required to design, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems in residential and commercial buildings.

Students will be instructed with appropriate theory and hands-on training in the use of hand and power tools and diagnostic service equipment. They will have a working knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration system components and design, installation methods, troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.  The practical in-lab and on-site work experiences will provide the opportunity to enhance technical skills as well as prepare the student to relate to real employers and actual customers.

ACADEMIC INTEGRATION

Most academic subjects are naturally integrated throughout the regular course material. Science math and physics are taught throughout the instruction of the theory of the HVAC/and Refrigeration curriculum. Math is also essential in designing systems and performing troubleshooting procedures. Reading is essential to comprehend and to follow directions and implement installation and troubleshooting procedures. Students will ultimately use many of the academic skills, as they will be required to design and install a final project that they will create on paper and construct themselves.

BIBLICAL INTEGRATION – CHRISTIAN SERVICE ASSIGNMENT

Students will have the opportunity to do ministry by performing HVAC/R installation, repair, and maintenance projects in coordination with local churches and community organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity. This is a curriculum requirement.
