STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that the scriptures in the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired word of God and are the complete revelation of God to man, leading man to salvation, and are the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct for direction in living one’s life here on earth.

I Thessalonians 2:13:  And that For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not of the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe..

II Timothy 3:15-17:  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

II Peter 1:20-21:  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:  but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

We believe the one true God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent “I Am,” the creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind.  We believe He has further revealed himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:4:  Hear, O Israel:  The Lord our God is one Lord:

Isaiah 43:10-11:  Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen:  that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am He:  before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Matthew 28:19-20:  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:  and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.

Luke 3:22:  And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the eternal Son of God.  We believe what the scriptures declare about the Lord Jesus Christ:

HIS VIRGIN BIRTH

Matthew 1:23:  Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Luke 1:31-35:  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest:  and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of his father David:  And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end.  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:  therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Acts 10:38:  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power:  who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.

HIS SUBSTITUTIONARY WORK ON THE CROSS

I Corinthians 15:3:  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.

II Corinthians 5:21:  For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

John 3:16:  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

HIS BODILY RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD

Matthew 28:6:  He is not here:  for He is risen, as He said.  Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

HIS EXALTATION TO THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD

Acts 1:9-11, 2:32-35:  And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight.  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?  This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.     This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.  Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.  For David is not ascended into the heavens:  but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Mark 16:19:  So then, after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

HIS CURRENT INTERCESSION AS OUR HIGH PRIEST

Hebrews 8:25-27:  Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.  For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for His own sins, and then for the people’s:  for this He did once, when He offered up Himself.

HIS PERSONAL RETURN TO POWER AND GLORY

Mark 13:34-35:  For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.  Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing or in the morning.

I Thessalonians 4:16:  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:  and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

We believe that man was created good and upright, for God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” (Genesis 1:26).  However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.

 Genesis 1:26-27:  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:  and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

Genesis 2:17, 3:6:  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:  for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.    And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Romans 5:12:  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

We believe that man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.  Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ.  By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life.

Luke 24:47:  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.

John 3:3:  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Romans 10:13:  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Ephesians 2:8:  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:

Titus 2:11:  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.

Titus 3:5-7:  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

We believe that the inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit and that the outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

Romans 8:16:  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

Ephesians 4:22-24:  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Titus 2:12:  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

John 3:18:  He that believeth on Him is not condemned:  but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 5:28-29:  Marvel not at this:  for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in one true Church composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are baptized into the body of Christ of which He is the head. 

I Corinthians 12:12-14:  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body:  so also is Christ.  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.  For the body is not one member, but many.
