The owner of the buildings in Harrisburg met with the heirs of his Family Trust Fund that includes these buildings as part of that Trust Fund. The participants determined that the leased portions of the building would no longer be included in the offer of sale. These leased sections were also being negotiated for permanent sale to the current tenants.  The price of the remaining part of the building was set at $950,000. The owner would only carry the mortgage if all board members and their spouses would sign to be personally responsible for the mortgage. The second building would be offered in the future on a "First Right of Refusal" basis, but no price was established for the building and no guarantee was made regarding the lease or sale of any portions of that building to other tenants in the meantime. Current negotiated leases would provide income to help pay for the annual mortgage. A $50,000 deposit would be required to be make within three months to hold the building; a variance with the city of Harrisburg would also need to be obtained to comply with zoning. With $15,000 already raised, as $35,000 challenge was initiated.

06/30/08: Six Board members and several others interested in Pathways Tech CCTE met to tour a building at 7201 Allentown Boulevard. The building is 44,000 sq. ft. with 40,000 sq. ft. of industrial area suitable for vocational shops. The cost of the building is $1,780,000. The building is zoned "Commercial Housing" and we would need a "use variance" approved by West Hanover Township.  We met with the Zoning Administrator on 7/02/08 to discuss the steps for applying for the variance. The owner of the building will take $25,000 as a deposit to hold the building if we decide to proceed to obtain the variance. The variance needs the approval of the owner for us to proceed. Contributions to you are deductible under section 170 of the Code. You are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code."  The effective date of exemption is April 16, 2007 (retroactive to the date of our Incorporation). Praise the Lord!!  With the guidance of the Lord, and without the assistance of an attorney, we were able to obtain our 501(c)(3) approval in less than 4 months--it was received by the IRS on December 31, 2007 and approved April 28, 2008!   Also, there were no corrections to be made or additional information required!  We were told by many others that it takes at least 18 months or longer with an attorney and normally requires corrections and additional information along the way. WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD!!
